PARKWOOD HILLS
Parkwood Hills is in the west end of Ottawa, bounded by Meadowlands Drive/Baseline Road, Fisher Avenue, and to the west by Merivale Road. There is an abundance of schools in the area, with Parkwood Hills PS, Century PS, Sir Winston Churchill PS, and Merivale HS, as well as Frank Ryan and St. Rita in the Catholic Board. It offers a mix-dwelling suburb of apartment buildings, townhouses, and single family homes. Parkwood Hills was developed largely by Minto, mostly in the 1960’s. Parks are scattered throughout the community, and one of the best, General Burns Park, is a sprawling park home to a play structure, outdoor pool, tennis club, baseball diamond, a hockey rink, and a community centre. All the great retail, restaurants, and amenities along Merivale Road are just a quick walk away, including Farm Boy, Winners, Merivale Mall, the new Movati facility, and more!
